This course introduces participants to the key tools to manage a performance-based Safety Management System (SMS). Participants can review, evaluate, build or improve a safety management plan.
The course deals with safety management facilities and the implementation of a SMS at the service provider level and has been developed using ICAO annex 19 and ICAO doc 9859 3rd Edition SMM as reference.

After completing this course the candidate is expected to:
Identify the key concepts of ICAO approach to SMS Enhance his/her presentation skills and techniques
Identify how SMS are being effectively applied in Airlines
Get management’s and the workforce’s support and involvement a ‘safety case’ of SMS
Take into account human and organizational factors in SMS Implementation

Students participating in this course should have a general understanding of safety concepts and programs in a Part-145 maintenance environment.
According EASA Part 66. A minimum of 75% is required on each examination. After completion, an EASA Part 147 certificat is awarded.
